Advancing innovative conservation treatments
For conservators
by conservators
The operational parameters of the MAT were designed to fill a gap in the conservators' toolbox, and are driven by the pressing needs of actual conservation studio practice for mobile precision low-stress heat transfer technology for the in-situ treatments, in line with the principles of targeted minimal intervention. Development and dissemination of the technology is interactive and ongoing.

Developing new low-stress treatment methodologies
Precision mild heat transfer is inspiring development of innovative conservation treatments, exploiting accuracy in the low temperature range from room temp to 40C. New low-stress precision temperature management methodologies may incorporate textiles with microporous membranes for controlled introduction of humidity, gels, enzymes and more.
Conservation treatments
without borders
Precision mild heat transfer is being used internationally and across diverse conservation sectors, for treatment of paintings, paper, objects, and surface cleaning. MAT grooves on innovation and cross disciplinary exchange between science and cultural heritage conservation.
